This Thursday, December 12th, the next two episodes of Star Trek Short Treks are due to air on CBS All Access. This pair of episodes, “The Girl Who Made the Stars” and “Ephraim and DOT” are both animated, and they’re the first new animated Star Trek content since The Animated Series went off the air in 1974.

Yesterday, IGN shared exclusive screenshots of the new episodes, plus the official loglines from CBS All Access.

“The Girl Who Made the Stars”

“When a lightning storm in space scares a young Michael Burnham, her father aims to ease her fears with a mythical story about a brave little girl who faced her own fears head on. Written by Brandon Schultz. Directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi.”

“Ephraim and DOT”

“Ephraim, a humble tardigrade, is flying through the mycelial network when an unexpected encounter takes her on a bewildering adventure through space. Written by Chris Silvestri & Anthony Maranville. Directed by Michael Giacchino.”

These two shorts are the last before we start gearing up for Star Trek: Picard in January; the last of this season’s Short Treks, “The Children of Mars”, is a prequel to the Picard series, and due out on January 9th.

Star Trek Short Treks are available exclusively on CBS All Access.
