Emerald City Comic Con: Thursday, August 18 – Sunday, August 21

Doug Jones and Oded Fehr will be appearing Friday through Sunday at Emerald City Comic Con this weekend. The con is happening at the Seattle (Washington) Convention Center, and all the details are at Emerald City Comic Con.

Trekonderoga: Friday, August 19 – Sunday, August 21

Brent Spiner, Gates McFadden, John de Lancie, and Tracee Lee Cocco will be in attendance at the latest Trekonderoga. The event is happening at the Star Trek Original Series Set Tour, in Ticonderoga, New York. The weekend schedule includes set tours, sessions with the actors, a pizza party, mini-golf, and vendors. The Great Bird’s Origins Tour: Saturday, August 20 – Sunday, August 21

Larry Nemecek, host of fellow Roddenberry Network podcast The Trek Files, is leading a two-day tour in Los Angeles retracing the life and career of Star Trek creator, Gene Roddenberry. Rod Roddenberry will be a special guest. Tickets and more info are at Trekland.

Film & Comic Con Glasgow: Saturday, August 20 – Sunday, August 21

Join Marina Sirtis in Glasgow this weekend for Film & Comic Con, happening at Braehead Arena just outside the Glasgow city center. Yes, Glasgow, Scotland. Get all the skinny at, you guessed it, Film & Comic Con Glasow.

Walter Koenig Private Signing: Sunday, August 21

GalaxyCon is hosting another opportunity, this time with Walter Koenig, to order autographs on photos and posters. The deadline is Sunday at 11:59 p.m. ET. To order, head over to GalaxyCon.

Trek into the Valley of Fire: Wednesday, August 24

Geek Nation Tours presents a one-day Trek Adventure to explore Nevada’s Valley of Fire State Park, otherwise known as the final resting place of Captain James T. Kirk from Star Trek: Generations. Larry Nemecek will also be hosting this tour. Hit up Geek Nation Tours for the details.

The Regular Stuff

·These are the Twitter watchalongs:

o   #allstartrek runs Sunday through Friday at 8/7C and follows the Heroes and Icons Channel’s All Star Trek programme.

o   #TOSSatNight starts at 9pm PT on Saturday night and follows a different episode of The Original Series every week, and

o   #StarTrekHour is a Q&A-format event, every Tuesday at 1pm PT.

·Then there’s Star Trek: Watch Party, hosted daily and coordinated on Facebook. Every evening, they use the Teleparty browser extension to watch Star Trek together. To find out more, head over to Star Trek: Watch Party on Facebook.

·Speaking of a Star Trek watch party: the iBlind Users Group hosts Trekkie Talk on the first and third Thursdays of every month. They watch an audio descriptive version of a Star Trek episode and get together virtually to discuss it. To find out how to join in, visit ibugtoday.com/trekkie-talk.

·But wait, there’s more watch partying: Club IDIC hosts a weekly watch party and discussion at 6pm Alberta Time every Friday. The schedule and Zoom links are available at the Club IDIC Facebook page.

·To Proudly Go, a New York-based nonprofit, will be hosting The Orville season three viewing parties each Saturday. The gatherings begin at 6:00pm ET at the Barracuda Lounge in New York City. Tickets are free, and vaccination is required. The viewing parties also include Star Trek trivia games, special Star Trek-themed drag performances, two-for-one drinks, fabulous Star Trek prizes, and merchandise. ·Virtual Trek Con presents The Main Viewer every Tuesday - a live discussion show on YT with occasional special guests and an open chat geared towards fan interaction.

·Disco Does DnD - livestream DnD game with DSC actors on Twitch, every Sunday at 1pmPT/4pmET.

· Join Grey Havens Philosophy and Outworld Brewing every first Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. as they discuss the big ideas inspired by Star Trek. The gatherings are at Outworld Brewing, in Longmont, Colorado. Attendance is free, but an RSVP for planning purposes is appreciated at Eventbrite.

·And finally, there’s Sid City Social Club, hosted by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine star Alexander Siddig’s official fan website. They meet twice monthly on the first Tuesday and third Friday of every month, with occasional pop-up meetings with Sid as his schedule allows.
