It may be April, but this is no joke and the organizers of these events aren’t fooling around!

WonderCon: Friday, April 1 - Sunday, April 3

WonderCon is back in Anaheim! While most of the content is generic fandom stuff, there are a few Trek-themed panels, including one with Star Trek: Picard’s Borg Queen, Annie Wersching and her makeup heads, plus our own Alison Pitt with other Trek podcasters Larry Nemecek, John Champion, James Kerwin and Jessica Lynn Verdi. Cyphacon: Friday, April 1 – Sunday, April 3

Doug Jones, Tim Russ, and Patricia Tallman will be appearing at Cyphacon this weekend. The in-person convention will be taking place at the Lake Charles Civic Center in Lake Charles, Louisiana. All the details are at Cyphacon.

Star Trek First Contact Day Party: Saturday, April 2

First Contact Day is next Tuesday, April 5, but the GeekLifeRules & U.S.S. Growler NCC-76369 - IND. Star Trek Fan Group will be hosting a First Contact Day party this Saturday. The event will include a sing-a-long, raffles, giveaways, gift exchanges and more. The party is happening at McHale’s Bar & Grill on West 51st Street in New York City. Registration is free, and proof of vaccination is required. Head over to Eventbrite to register.

GalaxyCon Private Signings: Sunday, April 3

John de Lancie, Jonathan Frakes, and Gates McFadden are signing photos and mini posters through GalaxyCon, and orders for the latest round of signings are due on Sunday by 11:59pm ET. Check out the GalaxyCon pages for de LancieFrakes, and McFadden for the details and to place your orders.

The Regular Stuff

  • These are the Twitter watchalongs:

    • #allstartrek runs Sunday through Friday at 8/7C and follows the Heroes and Icons Channel’s All Star Trek programme.

    • #TOSSatNight starts at 9pm PT on Saturday night and follows a different episode of The Original Series every week, and

    • #StarTrekHour is a Q&A-format event, every Tuesday at 1pm PT.

  • Then there’s Star Trek: Watch Party, hosted daily and coordinated on Facebook. Every evening, they use the Teleparty browser extension to watch Star Trek together. To find out more, head over to Star Trek: Watch Party on Facebook.

  • Speaking of a Star Trek watch party: the iBlind Users Group hosts Trekkie Talk on the first and third Thursdays of every month. They watch an audio descriptive version of a Star Trek episode and get together virtually to discuss it. To find out how to join in, visit ibugtoday.com/trekkie-talk.

  • But wait, there’s more watch partying: Club IDIC hosts a weekly watch party and discussion at 6pm Alberta Time every Friday. The schedule and Zoom links are available at the Club IDIC Facebook page.

  • To Proudly Go, a New York-based nonprofit, will be hosting Star Trek: Picard season 2 viewing parties each Saturday. The gatherings begin at 6:00pm ET at the Barracuda Lounge in New York City. Tickets are free, and vaccination is required. The viewing parties also include Star Trek trivia games, special Star Trek-themed drag performances, two-for-one drinks, fabulous Star Trek prizes, and merchandise.   • Virtual Trek Con presents The Main Viewer every Tuesday - a live discussion show on YT with occasional special guests and an open chat geared towards fan interaction.

  • Disco Does DnD - livestream DnD game with DSC actors on Twitch, every Sunday at 1pmPT/4pmET. 

  • And finally, there’s Sid City Social Club, hosted by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine star Alexander Siddig’s official fan website. They meet twice-monthly on the first Tuesday and third Friday of every month, with occasional pop-up meetings with Sid as his schedule allows.
